Four Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) students will be winging their way out west later this week, hoping to make a big splash in BC.

Payton Gauthier, Cait Whittard, Madeson Scott and Lucas Marone, students at St Michael Catholic High School, Denis Morris Catholic High School and Notre Dame College School are off to Elk Lake near Victoria, BC, for the 2021 National Rowing Championships being held November 11 to 13.

Good luck! We are all so proud of you!” said NCDSB Director of Education Camillo Cipriano tweeted before their departure.

Championship organizers said that due to COVID-19, the 2021 NRC regatta is “committed to delivering a safe, fair and high quality experience for athletes and coaches.”

As such, social interactions will be minimized, such as the NRC athlete awards dinner not being staged.
