It’s been a week since Durham Region reported zero Covid-19 cases, but the daily numbers have been single digits since then and local hospitals remain Covid-free.

There were four new cases reported yesterday – two in Ajax – bringing the seven-day average to five. There are a total of 37 active cases of the virus, but all are home self-isolating.

The number of Delta variant cases has also stabilized at 87.

Durham has now administered more than 800,000 vaccination doses and 75.1 per cent of the 12-and-over population has now received at least one dose.

The percentage of 12-plus residents who are fully vaccinated stands at 55.7.
