Ninety grams of the deadly street drug fentanyl and a loaded handgun are off the streets after Peel Police made a bust in Brampton following a four-month investigation into fentanyl dealing downtown.

Officers from the 22 Division Community Integrated Response Team, along with investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau began their investigation into fentanyl dealing in downtown Brampton in November and were able to lay charges against a man and a woman last week.

Quinton Galloway, a 26-year-old from Markham, has been charged with three counts of drug trafficking (fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine) and two gun-related offences.

At the time of his arrest Galloway was on release for allegedly assaulting a Brampton transit operator.

Andrea Sassani-Nilgoon, a 27-year-old also from Markham, was hit with same charges.

The investigation led to the seizure of 90 grams of fentanyl, 76 grams of crack, 148 grams of cocaine and Oxycodone and Hydromorphone pills, as well as a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun.

The total value of seized drugs is approximately $43,000.

The two accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 17 for a bail hearing.
