Four different brands of children’s car seats sold online are being recalled in Ontario

Parents, guardians and caretakers are being urged by Health Canada to check their vehicles for the following branded car seats as they are being recalled due to safety issues which can cause severe injuries to children.

Super Momz Baby 4 in 1 Car Seat for 0-15 Months Baby

The car seat colour is khaki or grey and the affected products were sold through the distributor Temu.com.

The following SKU numbers are part of the recall.

  • 6791709478
  • 3984712822

Health Canada has determined that the use of these restraints in a motor vehicle could increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision.

The use of these restraints in a motor vehicle would be considered illegal under provincial and territorial highway regulations.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the recalled car seat and safely dispose of it in such a way that it cannot be used again. Proof of destruction is required for a refund by Hyajoy Technology Limited.

As of June 27, 2023, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The affected  car seat comes in a light blue colour. It was sold online at temu.com.

The model number G405 with the following sku numbers are impacted by the recall:

What you should do: Immediately stop using the recalled product, safely dispose of it in such a way that it cannot be used again and contact the distributor for a refund.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the recalled car seats and safety dispose of them in such a way that they cannot be used again. Consumers will be provided a refund after sharing a photo of destroyed car seat with the company.

The product involved is a black car seat with model number: kbh308. The product was sold online at temu.com.

These car seats do not display Transport Canada’s National Safety Mark and therefore may have not been certified to meet the safety requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations

The use of these restraints in a motor vehicle would be considered illegal under provincial and territorial highway regulations. 

Risks: Injury hazard.

What you should do: Discontinue using the recalled car seats and safely dispose of them in such a way that they cannot be used again. Consumers can contact the company to obtain a refund.

As of June 16, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
