A man with a golden gun has been arrested following four convenience store robberies across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

According to Peel Regional Police a man wielding a gold-coloured pistol appeared at four GTA convenience stores between Jan. 31 and Feb. 10.

Investigators allege the man arrived in disguise, brandished his weapon and stole cash from each store. Nobody was hurt in any of the robberies.

Caledon OPP responded to one such robbery on Feb. 16. Shortly afterwards they arrested a man and found a fake gold-coloured gun during the arrest.

Peel Police Central Robbery Bureau, Toronto Police and York Regional Police then collaborated to forensically link this man to robberies in Brampton, Etobicoke and Vaughan.

The suspect appeared in a Brampton courthouse on Mar. 7.

Dushyant Sunder, 22 of Brampton, was charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of using an imitation gun to commit a crime and four counts of disguise with intent.

Police say the investigation continues and they may yet add further charges.

Anyone with information about the robberies can call Central Robbery Bureau at (905)453-2121 ext. 3410. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477),
