COVID-19 cases continue to climb in Durham Region, with 26 new cases reported Wednesday and 42 – the highest number in many weeks – reported yesterday.

Whitby reported 13 new cases Thursday but there are alarming numbers in Clarington (9), Ajax (8) and Oshawa (7) as well. Clarington had the highest total on Wednesday with eight new cases reported.

The good news is the active case total in Durham fell slightly to 105; there are no COVID-19 patients in hospital; and long-term care homes in the region are still virus-free.

There remains one workplace outbreak in a food and beverage company and one child from an Ajax day care home self-isolating.
