Niagara Police have charged a Fort Erie man and woman after a string of gas station robberies (and attempted robberies), as well as a vehicle theft.

On January 24, three separate gas stations in Fort Erie and Niagara Falls were hit by the pair in a two-hour spree with varying degrees of success.

At 3 am, the male suspect went into a Pioneer gas station on Garrison Road in Fort Erie, demanding cash. He left worth no cash and a small quantity of merchandise.

At 3:20 am, he tried again the Flying J Truckstop on Pettit Road in Fort Erie, this time leaving with nothing.

Then finally, at 4:20 am, he went into the Petro Canada on Oakwood Drive in Niagara Falls but was left running away with nothing.

However, the vehicle the pair was driving was stolen the day before from a Ridgeway Road plaza parking lot in Fort Erie.

The pair were tracked to a Fort Erie home yesterday (February 1) and arrested by the Niagara Police.

Scott John Lochhead, 40, of Fort Erie is charged with three counts of robbery, disguise with intent to steal, motor vehicle theft and failing to comply with probation.

Melissa Katie Henri, 28, of Fort Erie is charged with three counts of robbery and motor vehicle theft.

Both accused were held in custody pending a video bail hearing today (February 2).

Anyone who may have information about this investigation is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, 1022300.
