Fort Erie man dead after hitting guard rail on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls

A Fort Erie man is dead after colliding with a guard rail on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls Monday evening.

Niagara Police say the 35 year-old was driving a black BMW 335i northbound on Dorchester, north of Calaguiro Drive, just after 5 p.m. when he lost control and struck the guard rail. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Falls Fire Department and Niagara Emergency Medical Service paramedics responded to the accident. Detectives assigned to the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit have now taken over the investigation, supported by detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.

The circumstances related to the cause of the collision remain under investigation.
