The former St. Catharines General Hospital site on Queenston Street.

The open house for a possible development at the former St. Catharines General Hospital site on Queenston St. that was originally scheduled for Feb. 23 but cancelled will be held tonight (April 6).

The proposed development includes splitting the Queenston Street property into areas that include four buildings between 11 and 16 storeys alongside some townhouses.

Residents will finally get a chance to see the lay-out of the proposed development, which includes property splits breaking the lands into separate sections to accommodate the apartment-townhouse areas.

In the end, if the development is passed at City Halls, it will mean another 1,100 housing units in St. Catharines.

The meeting will take place 6 p.m. at St. Catharines Collegiate (34 Catherine St).
