A Brampton man who formerly worked as a Sea Cadet instructor has been charged in a sexual assault investigation going back eight years.

In 2014, it’s alleged that an adult Sea Cadet instructor entered into inappropriate sexual relationships with two female cadets who were youths at the time.

Earlier this week on Monday, August 1, police arrested 31 year old Brampton man Thai Dennis Duong.

Duong is charged with sexual interference and sexual exploitation.

He is expected to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets is a national youth program sponsored by the Canadian Armed Forces and the civilian Navy League of Canada. The program teaches sailing, pleasure craft operating, and general seamanship to youths aged 12 to 19.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and believe that there may be more victims.
