“Khari is an outstanding person with a vast amount of experience in the Canadian Football League, and he will add a tremendous amount of value to our football team,” said Orlondo Steinauer, Tiger-Cats head coach and president of football operations. “We are happy to welcome Khari and his family back to the city of Hamilton.”

Most recently, Jones served as the head coach and offensive coordinator of the Montreal Alouettes (2019-22), leading them to back-to-back playoff appearances (2019, 21) and an 18-18 overall record.

The Sacramento, California native also served as offensive coordinator with the BC Lions (2014-17) and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2011), and as quarterbacks coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2012-13) and Tiger-Cats (2009-10).

As a player, Jones suited up in 130 games over nine seasons with the Lions (1998-99), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2000-04), Calgary Stampeders (2004) and Tiger-Cats (2005). The five-foot-11, 195-pounder totalled 1,513 completions for 21,383 yards and 145 passing touchdowns. He was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2001.
