Hamilton’s Canadian Premier League soccer club showed off its 2023 threads ahead of the new season.
Unveiled at a launch party Tuesday night, Forge FC players donned the custom-designed Macron primary and alternate kits for fans, paying homage to Greater Hamilton.
Forge will again wear orange at home this season. The primary kit prominently features a six-linked chain united around a cinquefoil — the plant featured on the City of Hamilton flag. Each steel link represents a regional municipality, including Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook, Hamilton, and Stoney Creek.
“From there, the chains cascade ever larger throughout the jersey utilizing an abstract tone-on-tone sublimated print,” according to an official media release introducing the new kits. “The primarily orange kit includes pops of steel and white accents throughout, including the collar and cuffs.”
“The city of Hamilton pride is highlighted on the back of the jersey.”
Making its return in 2023 for Forge is a black alternate kit that salutes the city’s industrious history and diversity.
“A steel chain accent between every black chevron on the front of the jersey further celebrates the link to our diverse and vibrant communities,” the release reads. “The jersey is complemented with black sleeves and accented with steel-coloured stripes on the cuffs and collar.”
Both kits will include the new league sponsor, CIBC, on the left sleeve of the jersey. The CPL Champion North Star, which honours the league’s reigning champion, will sit in gold below the Forge FC logo on both kits. The kits will also display the CPL’s Legacy Patch on the right sleeve honouring the three North Star Shields Forge FC has claimed in its history, won in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
Tim Hortons returns as Forge’s official kit sponsor for a fifth consecutive season.
As part of its 2023 kit unveiling, Forge’s incredibly talented marketing and digital media team put together an Oscar-worthy hype video that would give any Hamiltonian chills. It can be viewed on all Forge social media channels, including Twitter:
