Ford says cabinet to discuss amending grey zone restrictions in Peel, Toronto today

Mississauga and Brampton residents could soon find themselves being able to have a meal on their favourite outdoor patio.
At a Friday morning press conference, Ontario Premier Doug Ford confirmed he’ll be meeting with his cabinet later today about amending grey zone restrictions in Toronto and Peel Region.
While they would remain in lockdown, some of the restrictions under the grey zone framework would be altered to allow more outdoor activities.
Dr. Lawrence Loh, the Peel Region Medical Officer of Health, had mentioned he would support the changes to the grey zone.
Ford said he’s on board for amending the restrictions as long as Ontario Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Williams, city mayors and local health officials also agree.
“It drives me absolutely crazy in closing businesses, but in saying all that we have another variant,” Ford said at a Friday morning press conference. “I’m taking the advice off the chief medical officer and I’m going to continue taking the advice off the chief medical officer.”
