For the first time in Canada, interactive exhibit Nature's Superheroes comes to Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario

A new one-of-a-kind experience has arrived at Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, perfect for family outings.

Their newest exhibit is Nature’s Superheroes: Life at the Limits, a travelling exhibit for the American Museum of Natural History in New York. This is the exhibit’s very first time in Canada, and they’re ready to show Burlington the many extraordinary species that have developed unique “superpowers” to overcome the challenges threatening their survival.

The exhibit runs from Jan. 27 to Apr. 21 as the latest of many family-friendly events and activities held at Canada’s biggest botanical garden.

Tickets to the event are available now and selling fast, and free parking is available. A 19+ version of the event is also available on select dates.

From tall mountaintops to ocean depths, the exhibit takes a look at some of the world’s most interesting plants and animals – and how their extraordinary features typically help them do ordinary tasks like reproduce, breathe and move around, sense the world, or find food and safety.

The exhibit covers about 5,000 square feet with interactive elements and tons of things to see, do, smell and hear.

Visitors can look at the skulls of woodpeckers to see how they’re able to hammer their way into trees, to eye-catching mantis shrimp, to critically endangered axolotls from Mexico, to the way owls hunt at night, to the unique aromas different orchids produce to attract bees that pollinate them, and much more.

Other features include a diorama of deep-sea creatures that live in hydrothermal vents deep in the ocean, and an interactive camouflage wall where the creatures on screen react to the gestures that visitors are making in front of them.

Interactive displays, dioramas, videos, and larger-than-life models combine to make this exhibit a very special experience, showcasing many different species from all over the world.

Along the way, information posted about each exhibit will help visitors learn more about the world in a fun and engaging environment.

In addition to the incredible exhibits, a ticket to the event also grants access to the fun and educational programming available at Royal Botanical Gardens, including live animal encounters, puppet shows, story time, discovery shows and more, great for parents and kids alike.

Nature is capable of amazing things! Check out the sights by grabbing a ticket to Nature’s Superheroes, running now until Apr. 21. As a time-ticketed event, visitors must arrive within the hour on their ticket but can stay for as long as they want until closing.

While the event is perfect for families that have kids, adults can also enjoy a 19+ version with RBG After Dark: Nature’s Superheroes, combining amazing exhibits with drinks and live music. This is a licensed event with alcoholic beverages available for purchase (valid ID is required for entry).
