When a Fort Erie man “heard the fun music” while checking his lottery ticket on the OLG app, he knew it meant big cash.

For Deyvi Urrutia Vanegas, 33, that sweet tune turned into a $2 million win as he took the top prize for the ONTARIO 49 draw on March 1.

Vanegas, who plays the lottery weekly, says this is his first big win, noting, “I checked my ticket on the OLG App and heard the fun music. I immediately thought of my family.”

While at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings, he added, “I went home to tell my partner and she was so excited!”

He plans to set up an education fund for his children and invest his winnings.

But in the meanwhile, Vanegas says he is still processing his win. “It feels so special,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on North Service Road in Fort Erie.
