Food Truck Festival Hits Mississauga
Sound Bites and AwesTRUCK are back for the annual Sound Bites event! The festival will be held at Mississauga's Celebration Square on Saturday, August 29, 2015 and will run from 5 pm to 11 pm. It's a free event that features live music and gourmet street food.
De La Soul rocked the mic last year and the vibe was incredible with over 20,000 attendees. This year's headline act is July Talk - a well-known Canadian blues/alternative rock band originating from Toronto. They've toured with Mississauga's own Billy Talent and a number of other famous Canadian bands and were recently nominated for a 2014 Juno Awardin the Breakthrough Group of the Year category.
Join insauga.com's Khaled Iwamura and guest host Anthony Carelli (a Saugaboy better known as WWE superstar Santino Marella) on the Celebration Square main stage where the insauga.com TV show will be filmed live at 6 pm.
Featured guests include local musicians Shyann Collective (singer/song writer), Kyle Fraser (fingerstyle acoustic guitarist) and DJ D Smooth (2014 Canadian East Coast Red Bull Thre3style Champ). insauga's guest line up doesn't end there - your hosts will also interview AwesTRUCK Food Truck Awards host James Cunningham (TV Host for Food Network Canada's Eat St.), and other food truck operators. They might also get a surprise visit from a WWE wrestler!
Saturday night's events will include the AwesTRUCK awards at 8 pm. Other local musical performances for the event include Mississauga's own Junia-T (multi-talented singer/songwriter) and K.I.D.
AwesTRUCK hosts one of the largest food truck festivals in Ontario and is the only group to host an annual Street Food Awards event. There will be 31 gourmet food trucks serving their epic dishes and this year's line up includes:
