Fireworks complaints down 80% on Canada Day this year in Brampton

This year’s Canada Day celebration in Oakville will be bigger and better than ever before.

With extended hours, there will be more time for family-friendly activities, live entertainment, fabulous food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display.

“Town events, such as the Canada Day celebration, are part of what make Oakville a vibrant and livable community for all,” said Mayor Rob Burton.

“My Council colleagues and I look forward to celebrating Canada Day with residents at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park.”

Residents of all ages are invited to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park to enjoy Canada Day festivities on Monday, July 1.

The fun starts at 4 p.m. with performances by local community groups and the opportunity for attendees to try a variety of sports, make crafts, have their faces painted and visit community booths.

Starting at 6 p.m. on the main stage, Juno award-winning artist Chris McKhool’s Earth, Seas & Air Concert, and Cajun band Swamperella will perform, followed by Oakville-raised headliners The Lonely Hearts.

Other entertainers strolling the park will include stilt walkers, a juggler, and a magician.

The opening ceremonies will take place at 8 p.m. with a local choir leading the crowd through the singing of the national anthem.

At 10 p.m., weather permitting, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky as the grand finale of the festivities.

The Town of Oakville is offering free Oakville Transit shuttle services to and from Bronte GO Station. Shuttle service will begin at 3:45 p.m., running every 10 minutes, and provide safe and convenient access to the event due to road closures and no onsite event parking.

The last shuttle to the park will leave Bronte GO Station at 9:30 p.m. Once the fireworks display has ended, return shuttle service to Bronte GO Station will begin.

For more information including the full event schedule, road closure information, and updates, visit the Town’s Canada Day page.
