Starting this week, Canada’s third-largest airline is once again flying passengers to the Emerald Isle from Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Air Transat now has flights departing Pearson for Dublin, Ireland five times a week.

“Whether you like cozy pubs, historic walks or jumping off for day trips to Ireland’s most legendary sights, Dublin’s got it all,” airport officials tweeted in welcoming the flight service back to Pearson.

As COVID-19 air travel restrictions have been lifted in Canada and around the world, airlines are once again ramping up their flight schedules.

In addition to its Pearson-to-Dublin weekly flights, Air Transat also announced this week it will resume direct service from Pearson to Paris starting May 3.

In total, four airlines will be flying passengers from Pearson to Dublin this summer.

WestJet, Canada’s second-largest carrier, will do so starting May 15 with flights to that city four times a week.

By June 2, the Calgary-based airline will increase its Pearson-to-Dublin schedule with daily flights as the carrier eyes a new transatlantic route. The daily flights will continue until Oct. 1, at which time WestJet will reduce the schedule to four flights per week through the month of October.

Aer Lingus and Air Canada also make Pearson-to-Ireland runs.
