Flights from Pearson Airport in Mississauga may be delayed due to winter storm

Travellers planning to fly out of Pearson Airport in Mississauga today (Feb. 28) are being urged to call ahead to make sure lingering effects from last night’s winter storm haven’t delayed their flights.
A storm that swept across the GTA Monday afternoon and night dropped about 10 centimetres of snow on many areas, but it also brought with it some ice pellets and freezing rain.
Those conditions continued through the night and may still have an impact on operations at Canada’s busiest airport, officials say.
“Lingering effects from yesterday’s winter storm might still affect your flight,” Pearson Airport officials said via social media this morning. “Don’t forget to check your flight status before you leave for the airport. Drive safe.”
Weather forecasters predict another winter storm is on the way for the GTA and southern Ontario and is expected to hit the area on Friday.
