Some flights into Halifax from Pearson Airport in Mississauga are delayed or cancelled following a major snowfall in Nova Scotia.
More than 80 centimetres of snow was reported in eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton on Sunday (Feb. 4), but strong winds sculpted massive drifts that will take days to deal with.
As of Monday morning, a local state of emergency remained in effect in parts of Cape Breton as Nova Scotia.
Flights connecting Pearson Airport and Halifax Stanfield are starting to resume, Pearson Airport said in a post on X this morning.
Airlines have cancelled five flights departing from Pearson to Halifax, and nine flights originally scheduled to arrive at Pearson from Halifax have been cancelled.
Some flights have also been delayed, the post reads.
Halifax Stanfield International Airport reports scores of flights have been cancelled or delayed, and more than 6,000 power outages were reported across the province this morning.
Pearson suggests travellers check their flight status here.
