Flights cancelled or delayed from major city in the Middle East to Pearson Airport in Mississauga, Ontario

Typically hot and dry, heavy rain has flooded parts of Dubai paralyzing the airport.
Dubai’s airport in the United Arab Emirates is a major hub and known as the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic.
Video shows the airport flooded in powerful torrents of water. At least 18 people were killed in flash floods, according to news reports
Pearson Airport announced today (April 17) that an airline had cancelled one of two flights bringing passengers from Dubai to Pearson in Mississauga.
The second flight is delayed.
Flights taking passengers from Pearson to Dubai are still scheduled as planned.
But the Dubai Airport said flights continue to be delayed and diverted.
“We advise you NOT to come to the airport, unless absolutely necessary,” the airport said on X early this early morning. “We are working hard to recover operations as quickly as possible in very challenging conditions.”
