Flags at Milton Town Hall and other facilities have been lowered to recognize the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“It is with heavy hearts, #MiltonON joins the world in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Flags at Town Hall and all Town of Milton facilities will be flying at half-mast in her memory. Our thoughts are with @RoyalFamily,” said the Town on Twitter.

As Britain’s longest-reigning monarch of 70 years, her loss will be felt around the world.

“We are grateful for her record-setting length of service to Canada and the world,” said Mayor Gordon Krantz in a statement.

“The flags at Town Hall and Town of Milton facilities will be at half-mast in her honour.”
