People can fix broken items for free at an upcoming event in Brampton.
Brampton Library’s Repair Cafe returns this Saturday, the library said in a press release.
Residents are encouraged to bring small appliances, jewelry, bicycles, computers and other electronics in need of repair for free repair services from volunteers at the event.
Everyone is welcome to learn how to fix their old and broken items.
No registration required, but participants who bring a broken item for fixing must sign in their item and complete a waiver form.
Due to time constraints, the library requests that participants bring one item each.
People can also bring e-waste and donate old devices, including laptops, for on-site wiping and redirection to community members in need.
The Tech Collect station will also safely dispose of and recycle metal waste. There is no limit on the number of items for Tech Collect.
Brampton Library is partnering with Let’s Get Together, a nonprofit organization that repurposes donated technology, and Different Spokes by Brampton Bike Hub, a group of volunteers who encourage the use of bicycles and advocate for safe transportation in Brampton and Caledon.
The event is on Saturday, July 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Four Corners Branch Library, 65 Queen St. E.
