There were just five new Covid-19 cases in Durham Region yesterday, putting the seven-day average at less than 7.6 per day.

Does this mean we are out of the woods yet? No. but it does mean we are headed in the right direction, especially as the number of reported cases of the B.1.617.2 Delta variant has stabilized at 56.

Vaccinations are also on the rise, with 675,389 doses administered in the Region so far.

The percentage of first-dose vaccinated adults is 73.6 and nearly 40 per cent of all over-18 Durham residents have been fully vaccinated.
