A lone jogger runs past a town planter of St. Paul St in downtown St. Catharine as snow hit the city for the first time this winter.

Don’t break out the skis just yet but the white stuff has returned to St. Catharines and other parts of Niagara Region.

Granted, there’s still more pepper than salt on the ground but it had to start sometime. At roughly 8 am today (November 26), light flurries carried by 30 km/h wind are quietly leaving a thin white blanket on the city.

Environment Canada is saying to expect it to continue through today and into the evening. The next few days – from Saturday through to Wednesday (December 1), Niagara Region can expect to see more.

Temperatures are expected to range from 0C to 3C for the next few days.
