Three new Collision Reporting Centres are opening next week in Peel Region, two in Mississauga and one in Brampton.

Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI) announced two of the centres will be opening in Peel Regional Police (PRP) buildings in Mississauga—the first will be located at PRP Headquarters at 7150 Mississauga Road, and the second will be located at 11 Division at 3030 Erin Mills Parkway—while the third, in Brampton, will be located at Shoppers World at 499 Main Street South, Unit 189A.

All three will be officially open as of next Wednesday (October 14).

These centres will be the first in Peel Region, and, by reallocating officers from collision reporting, they will allow PRP officers to focus on higher priority calls within their communities.

All three reporting centres will allow residents to complete all necessary tasks after being involved in a collision in one place.

Upon arrival, customers will be greeted by a staff member, who will help them complete a police report, apply the “Damage Reported to Police” sticker to their vehicle, photographs the damage to the vehicle, and offer them an opportunity to contact a family member, their broker, or their insurance company directly from the Centre.

All three locations will be funded by supporting insurance companies, so there will be no additional cost to the police or the public for these services.

“Our goal is to facilitate an active partnership between police and insurers in post-collision care by providing knowledgeable advice and assistance to accident victims.  This results in increased convenience for the public as well as greater road safety,” reads a statement from ASSI.
