Fireworks, food trucks and more on tap at biggest Canada Day party in Mississauga

More than 50,000 people are expected at the annual Canada Day party hosted by the city next week at Celebration Square in Mississauga’s downtown core.

People of all ages are invited to the patriotic festivities taking place on Wednesday, July 1 at the popular City Centre outdoor venue, City of Mississauga officials said this week.

The big party, which includes music, family friendly events and a variety of food, gets underway at 4 p.m. and continues until around 10:30 p.m. after the last fireworks have been set off into the night sky. Admission is free.

This year’s “signature event” features live entertainment from Canadian talent, more than 25 food trucks and food market vendors, interactive soccer-inspired experiences and a “spectacular fireworks finale,” the city said.

“Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Canada Day at Mississauga Celebration Square with friends, family and an electric headline performance by multi-Juno-Award-winning, multi-platinum artist bbno$,” officials said in a public invitation to Mississauga residents and others from beyond the city’s borders.

The city added its Canada Day party at the square “is the city’s largest civic celebration, showcasing Mississauga’s diversity, creativity and community spirit. This exciting, annual event offers residents and visitors an opportunity to come together and experience performances by top Canadian artists on the saugaLIVE stage, cultural programming and shared moments of national pride.”

• 4 p.m. — DJ Jelz live spinning the Splash Party at the Fountain
• 6:05 p.m. — Sauga Sound Collective; Bombastic global beat makers at the saugaLIVE Stage
• 6:20 p.m. — Official ceremony with Mayor Carolyn Parrish and members of council
• 6:40 p.m. — Freestyle Soccer Show at the North Side Stage
• 7 p.m. — Tedy, Pop power-house and rising star at the saugaLIVE Stage
• 7:30 p.m. — Sauga Sound Collective; Bombastic global beat makers, at the North Side Stage
• 8 p.m. — Aiona Santana, Latin-pop star at the saugaLIVE Stage
• 8:35 p.m. — Sauga Sound Collective x Freestyle Soccer show at the North Side Stage
• 9 p.m. — bbno$, rapper and viral TikTok sensation at the saugaLIVE Stage
• 10 p.m. — Fireworks finale presented by Tim Hortons
