Perhaps one of the more controversial promotion decisions made by Niagara Falls Tourism this year was the 144 consecutive days of fireworks over Niagara Falls.

After two years of zero fireworks due to the pandemic, the tourist board brought them back in a big way, running a show every night at 10 pm from May 20 to October 10.

That lead to countless complaints from local citizens, as well as animal welfare group such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who all claimed the nightly barrage of nose was too much to bear.

Barely a month after they ended, the fireworks are returning but this time, it’s weekends-only at 8 pm. However, there is a 14 straight day stretch between Boxing Day and January 7.

Fireworks will be back on November 12 and then continue November 18-19, 25-26, December 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and then 26-31 at 8:00pm. There’ll be a second New Years Eve display at midnight.

The night-lightshow continued in 2023 starting January 1-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 and February 3-4, 10-11 and finally 17-20.

The fireworks displays can be seen from multiple vantage points. These include outdoor spaces across Niagara’s Parks and indoors for guests at the many hotels and restaurants within the tourism districts.
