Firehouse Subs has opened a second location in Oakville.

Co-owners Nick Lebastchi and Adam Arefian held the grand opening Thursday for their second restaurant, located at 2501 Hyde Park Gate.

The franchisees also own and operate the Firehouse Subs location at 230 North Service Road West.

This is the 43rd Canadian location for the restaurant chain, which opened its first Ontario store in 2015.

Arefian, who is Lebastchi’s step father, opened his first Firehouse Subs restaurant in the United States in 2004. Lebastchi, a Toronto native, was a team member at the American store and worked his way up to management before open more locations.

The new Firehouse Subs location will feature the brand’s new community design, a first for Canada.

Aimed to provide a better customer experience, the enhancements include a new back-of-the-house layout with more efficient flow to better serve the various “premium meats and cheeses” to customers.

There’s also a repositioned ordering area.

“As we open up our fifth location in Canada, we’re energized to provide a new experience to our guests with the Community Design,” said Lebastchi, of the sub chain that serves various meats and cheeses on a toasted sub roll. “It’s incredibly important to us that we provide the heartfelt service and hot and hearty food we’re known for to all of our guests, so it’s exciting to take that to the next level with our newest Firehouse Subs.”

Both Lebastchi and Arefian are carrying on the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada, which helps public safety organizations. More than $1.5 million has been raised for the “hometown heroes” throughout Ontario.

The new Firehouse Subs location is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Customers can order the meal at the service counter inside, over the phone, online or through third-party apps. Go to www.firehousesubs.ca to see what’s on the menu.
