Firefighters’ Boot Drive in Pickering this weekend

Pickering Fire Services and the Pickering Professional Firefighters Association are hosting their annual Boot Drive this weekend in Pickering.
The event raises money each year for local charities such as St. Paul’s-on-the-Hill Food Bank, Ajax-Pickering Hospital Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of South-West Durham and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606.
Cash donations work best as always but debit terminals will be available.
Firefighters will be at the Hub Plaza (1360 Kingston Road), Lone Star Plaza (705 Kingston Road) and the Pickering Town Centre, boot in hand, on both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday hours for the #BootDrive are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Sunday schedule is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Last year, thanks to public donations from the Boot Drive, firefighters were able to raise more than $22,000.
