Firefighters battle house fire in Brampton

Residents are being asked to avoid the scene of a house fire where firefighters battled a blaze in Brampton.

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services say the fire broke out at a home in the area of McLaughlin Road and Sandalwood Parkway West on Wednesday.

A photo shared from the scene shows a BFES fire engine and firefighters gathered outside a home, where the garage appears to have suffered smoke and flame damage.

BFES said the fire had been brought under control by around 2:30 p.m. and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters are still on the scene and BFES is asking residents and drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible.
