Fire near Square One in Mississauga.

UPDATE: Peel Regional Police said Rathburn Road was reopened to traffic just before 10 a.m.

A busy road in Mississauga’s downtown core has been shut down to traffic due to a fire near Square One Shopping Centre this morning.

Peel Regional Police said in a post to social media the fire, which broke out at an unspecified location in the area at about 7:30 a.m., has been put out by Mississauga firefighters.

However, Rathburn Road remains closed to traffic between Confederation Parkway and Living Arts Drive while the cleanup and investigation continue.

Police, who are on scene helping fire crews, said in a post to X (formerly Twitter) there were no injuries reported as a result of the early morning blaze.

A post on Reddit Monday morning indicated the fire may have broken out at the Limelight Condominium complex at 360 Square One Dr., just south of Rathburn Road.
