Fire occurs at Hamilton seniors’ residence

A multiple-alarm fire reportedly occurred in a seniors’ residence in downtown Hamilton on Tuesday night.
Automated social media posts by both the Hamilton police and fire department indicated there was a blaze at the Residences on Augusta seniors’ apartment building. The residence is on James Street South at Augusta Street, near Young and Duke streets. Several Hamilton Fire Department trucks were dispatched, and a stretch of James St. S. was closed for more than 2½ hours.
