A mobile charging power bank has been recalled in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and across Ontario due to a fire hazard.

Health Canada has issued a recall for the Anker 535 Power Bank PowerCore 20k (model A1366) portable electronic charger. The device is compatible with a variety of electronics and was sold in Canada exclusively through Amazon.ca.

A small number of the PowerCore 20k power banks can overheat and pose a fire hazard, Health Canada said.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Anker 535 Power Bank and contact Anker customer support for a refund,”

Health Canada said.

As of Feb. 13, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

For more information on returning the recalled power bank consumers can contact Anker by telephone at 1 800-988-7973 or by email at [email protected].
