Firefighters battled a blaze at a Victorian-era home in Mississauga last night.

Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire shortly after 6:30 p.m. at a two-storey home on Tannery Street in Streetsville. Crews reported the fire was located in the attic and had caused the roof to collapse.

Due to the severity of the blaze, a defensive strategy was employed to contain the flames.

No injuries were reported and the situation has since been brought under control.

The origin of the fire and the extent of damage to the property remain unknown.
