A fire broke out Monday afternoon on the second floor of a three-storey townhouse in Burlington.
Firefighters were called to a unit on Walkers Line, just north of Upper Middle Road, where the kitchen was engulfed in flames. Crews encountered heavy smoke and high heat upon entry.
A woman from a neighbouring unit was assessed for possible smoke inhalation and transported to a hospital by Halton paramedics.
It’s unclear whether anyone was inside the townhouse unit that caught fire or if it was vacant at the time. No other injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain under investigation.
