A Filipino brioche pop-up spot has hit the Food District at Square One in Mississauga.

Ensanemada is a Filipino spot that specializes in brioches “with a twist” and features unique takes on flavours such as cookies and cream, mango, red velvet, matcha and cinnamon.

The localized ensaymada is a brioche that is a cross between a pastry and a bread. Traditionally, these are topped with grated cheese and sugar and can be found in almost all Filipino bakeries.

The brioche spot is also known for releasing limited-edition flavours which in the past have included a brioche with maple buttercream, gouda and cheddar and maple-crusted bacon.

They have also released festive flavours for holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas which have included Yema Bruleé, Pan de Coco, Blueberry Pie, Roasted Chestnut, Cranberry Orange and more.

Due to these unique flavour combinations, the bakery has amassed over 5,000 followers on Instagram.

The pop-up will be at the Food District from now until Jan. 29, 2023, and will feature Ensanemada’s full menu as well as some pop-up flavours.

“Yes, we’re going back to Square One – The Food District!” wrote Ensanemada on Instagram. “As always, you can preorder for pick-up to guarantee your treats. Excited to see you all again!”

The pop-up will be open daily at 11:00 a.m.
