Fighter jets responded to bomb threats involving three flights to Canada on Monday.
A spokesperson for the North American Aerospace Defense Command confirmed the incident in a statement sent to INsauga.com.
The spokesperson said CF-18 and F-15 fighter aircraft, along with supporting refueling aircraft, responded “out of an abundance of caution” to three commercial flights.
They were passenger aircraft flying to Calgary International Airport from Germany.
It happened at around 2 p.m. mountain daylight time.
Canadian authorities received reports of bomb threats aboard the flights, the spokesperson said.
“The aircraft landed without incident at Calgary International Airport after the threats were determined to be not credible,” the statement said.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a post on X that he’s grateful to NORAD “for their swift responses and coordination to protect our skies, and ensure the safety and security of Canadians at all times.”
Calgary International Airport said there were “minimal impacts” to operations.
