Fight at restaurant in Vaughan leads to firearms charges for quartet from Brampton

What started as a fight at a restaurant in Vaughan ended with charges for three men and one woman from Brampton after police say they found a loaded handgun.

York Regional Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday when between five and 10 people were involved in an altercation outside of a restaurant in the area of Windflower Gate and Nova Star Drive in Vaughan.

Police say they were notified about a fight in the area, but when officers arrived at the scene most of the individuals involved had left in different vehicles.

But while investigating police say they learned that the occupants of a white BMW had a loaded handgun.

Officers then stopped the vehicle and located a loaded firearm.

Three men and one woman from Brampton were arrested and have been charged with multiple offences including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm and possession of a restricted firearm.

Hasanpreet Singh, 26, Amit Kapoor, 37, Prince Singh, 22, and Harpreet Kaur, 35, all of Brampton have been charged.
