Fentanyl merchants busted by police in Oshawa

Two people are in custody after a weeks-long drug investigation uncovered fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine as well as two firearms.

The Central East Division Community Response Team, with the assistance of Gun and Gang Unit, Tactical Support Unit and the Drug Enforcement Unit, executed three search warrants on residences on Colborne Street, Ballard Street and Saguenay Avenue in Oshawa on September 23.

A quantity of drugs (fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine), two guns and cash were seized. The drugs have a street value of more than $400,000.

Daniel Lachance, 50, of Oshawa, has been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance. Carly Almon, 28, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Both were held for bail hearings.
