Federal grant will ‘bring new life’ to Milton library branch

Milton Public Library (MPL) has received a grant of $50,000 from the Government of Canada to support the “Be Inspired” Healthy Communities Initiative.
According to the MPL, in partnership with Grandmother’s Voice, the grant will be used to “bring new life” to the Beaty Branch, located at 945 Fourth Line and create a more inclusive and inviting community space.
Grandmothers Voice is a group of Indigenous people that create a safe and secure community while providing education and understanding of Indigenous cultures and practices. According to their website, their goal is “to remind the people that balance, personal and professional growth is important in moving towards the healing of our Nations.”
The grant will also help to fund and support other Milton Library programs.
