For those in the GTA eager to step outdoors for some fresh air and soak in some sunshine, it’s possible, but you might want to bundle up because it will be cold.

Today (Feb. 4) will begin with a bitterly cold morning as wind chills are anticipated to hit below -9 C,  according to Environment Canada’s Pearson Airport readings.

The temperatures won’t be freezing forever, as it’s expected to get warmer throughout the day reaching a high of 3 C.

It will be mostly sunny with cloudy periods and if it was anything like Saturday’s weather you might want to venture outside for a walk or run some errands.

Potential wind speeds could pick up to a brisk 15 km/h before calming down by the afternoon.

As the evening approaches temperatures will begin to cool down  to -4 C with an overnight wind chill of minus six. The skies will become partly cloudy with the potential of 15 km/h wind speeds returning.

The good news is, meteorologists have not predicted any snow or substantial amounts of rain for the region today.

As Monday returns, residents can look forward to a mix of sun and clouds persisting in the upcoming week, accompanied by warmer daytime temperatures and frigid nights.
