Feb. 25 Weather: Strong winds with rain and snow today in southern Ontario

Residents across southern Ontario can anticipate a fairly cloudy day with sunny breaks, though they should prepare for cold temperatures, brisk winds and the possibility of flurries and rain.
Last night, after a day of foggy patches and wind chills of -15 C, overnight temperatures plummeted to a bone-chilling -24 C.
Mainly cloudy skies will greet the start of today with occasional sun. Temperatures will be cold with a wind chill of -13 C. Additionally, southwest winds are forecasted to reach up to 50 km/h.
Closer to the afternoon, the region is expected to warm up to a high of 4 C with a 40 per cent chance of either rain or flurries.
If you’re planning on heading out for the day it might be a good idea to wear layers.
Environment Canada predicts that by the evening, the sky will darken and become overcast with a 40 per cent chance of rain or snow. Wind speed will lighten to 20 km/h by midnight, as temperatures gradually fall to -6 C.
Meteorologists predict the return of sunshine and warmer temperatures by Monday, marking a transition to more spring-like weather throughout the week. Temperatures are anticipated to climb to 13 C, accompanied by intermittent periods of rain.
