Residents across southern Ontario will awaken to sunshine and clear skies today but should brace for another chilly day ahead.
Last night, there were some evening flurries and the skies remained cloudy as temperatures fell to -12 C.
Additionally, a weather advisory from Environment Canada for strong winds and blowing snow was issued, which has now ended.
Today will begin with sunshine though temperatures will sit at a bitter -13 C. There will also be a brisk wind of 15 km/h persisting throughout the day.
Closer to the afternoon, the region is expected to warm up to a high of 5 C.
With sunshine and warm weather today, it could be an opportune time to step outside for some fresh air, take a stroll or tackle those errands.
By evening, the skies will stay clear but temperatures are expected to drop once more, reaching a cold -7 C.
Cloudy conditions are expected to return on Wednesday and are anticipated to stick around until the end of the week with occasional chances for rain and snow.
