Feb 2 Weather: A bit of sun and wind hits southern Ontario

Hopefully we can get a repeat of Groundhog Day over the next few weeks as a bit of sun will finally emerge in the GTA after a few grey weeks.

The forecast on Feb. 2 is looking a bit brighter than recent week, according to Environment Canada’s Pearson Airport readings. While some drizzle is expected to continue until about 6 a.m. skies will clear around that time. Early morning sees a 30 per cent chance of light rain.

A mix of sun and cloud will emerge around 8 a.m. and persist until sundown around 5 p.m. However, temperatures will remain low through out the day.

They’ll start off at around 0 degrees but graduallty warm to about 2 degrees by noon. They’ll stay the same until dark when temperatures will fall to -1 degrees by 10 p.m.

Wind will remain moderate throughout the day. They will be worst in the morning with gusts up to 40 km/h. However they will subside by the afternoon with winds falling to 30 km/h after 12 p.m.
