Fatal Uxbridge auto accident claims 16 year-old

A 16-year-old boy was killed early this morning in a single-vehicle car accident in Uxbridge Township.

Police were called Concession Road, south of Wagg Road, at 6:38 a.m. to investigate a collision. Police say the driver was operating the vehicle northbound on Concession Road 6 when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The car incurred severe damage, trapping the driver inside. Emergency Services attended the scene and the boy was extricated and rushed to local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit were on the scene and the area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
