Fatal motorcycle crash leads to impaired driving charge against Caledon man

Four people have been shot in York

A man from the Bolton area of Caledon has been charged after an overnight crash killed a motorcyclist in Vaughan.

At 12:05 a.m. on Sept. 11, York Regional Police responded to a collision between a white Honda Civic and a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the area of Highway 7 West and Jane Street.

The 55-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say the driver of the Honda Civic suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene.

The driver, 21-year-old Nicholas Fiorucci, was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 80+ milligrams.

The investigation is ongoing as police search for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time of the collision. Police are also appealing to businesses along Jane Street and the surrounding area to check their video surveillance for footage relating to a white Honda Civic around midnight.
