Fatal crash in Ontario town leads to charges and warrant for Brampton driver

A Brampton driver faces charges in connection to a fatal crash in an Ontario town.

A 60-year-old Fergus resident died after an SUV and a sedan collided in Wellington County on June 6, OPP said in a press release.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Wellington Road 125 and Halton-Erin Townline, near Acton, police said.

The Fergus resident was driving the SUV and was transported to hospital where they sadly were pronounced dead. Two passengers in the SUV were also transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The OPP said the investigation into the crash is now complete and they have laid charges.

Mandeep Singh Thind, 26, of Brampton, is charged with careless driving – cause death and two counts of careless driving – cause bodily harm, police said.

A warrant has been issued for Thind.
