After 87 years of helping women feel “empowered and inspired” and 300-plus store openings, Windsor Fashions is finally coming to Canada and Hamilton and Oshawa will be the first two cities to experience its “oasis” of affordable fashion.

Five Ontario stores will open in the next month or so, starting with Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton April 5 and the Oshawa Centre April 18.

Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill and Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket – both on April 25 – and Dufferin Mall in Toronto (May 5) will follow.

“Bringing Windsor to Canada is a landmark moment for our brand,” said Windsor Marketing Vice-President Catherine Seaton. “We’ve been so lucky to build a loyal global following, and we can’t wait to offer our Canadian customers the chance to experience Windsor first-hand in our new spaces. These five new stores are just the beginning – we see incredible potential for growth in Canada, and we’re excited to be part of the vibrant retail landscape there.”

Founded in 1937 by the Zekaria family, Windsor has become the go-to destination for affordable fashion for every occasion in a woman’s life, while remaining true to its mission to create an oasis that inspires and empowers its customers. The second generation of Zekaria brothers, Leon and Ike, took the helm in 1998 and successfully launched stores across the country, built an integrated ecommerce business and expanded Windsor’s product assortment. Today Windsor offers more than 200 new styles in-store and online every week, inspired by the hottest looks from the red carpet, runway and celebrity street style, all at a great value.

While best known for its formal dresses, Windsor also offers a broad assortment of apparel that varies by market for all of life’s one-of-a-kind, annual and everyday occasions. Whether for weddings and bridal events, school-based milestones like prom, homecoming and graduation, or regular occasions like concerts and going out to brunch, Windsor delivers an assortment of the latest trends.

“Beauty is eternal,” added Seaton, who said that helping women feel beautiful has been the company’s mission since the doors to its first store opened in 1937.

“We are beyond excited to serve the Canadian market with the opening of five new stores this spring. We look forward to providing an opportunity for our customers in the region to experience the brand in-person and have access to our unique value proposition,” she said. “As we continue to make fashion accessible to all, we’re eager to invite women to experience the Windsor oasis that inspires and empowers through an ever-evolving assortment of apparel and accessories for all of the meaningful moments in their lives.”

The new stores will also generate job openings for roles from store managers to stylists and associates.
