A New York bakery has announced plans to open 10 locations in Ontario.
Magnolia Bakery, known for its legendary, layered banana pudding, will open soon in Ontario.
“Canadians, we heard you & we’re heading north!” Magnolia said in a post on Linkedin.
Franchisees Chetanshi and Shaishav “Shay” Thakkar will be bringing 10 bakeries to Ontario, the post continues.
The pair will leverage “over a decade of experience of multi-unit operational experience to grow the brand and bring our whimsical bakery to our friends in Canada.”
No information was provided on when and where the Ontario locations will be.
Magnolia Bakery started with a small shop in New York City’s West Village in 1996, the company says on its website.
“Our Red Velvet Cupcakes became iconic and people lined up around the block for our fresh Banana Pudding. Magnolia Bakery became a destination for locals and tourists alike,” Magnolia Bakery says.
The now “world famous bakery” has locations across the United States, and over 40 bakeries across the globe, including in India, Kuwait, the Philippines, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
The Ontario locations will be the first in Canada.
